LITHUANIAN LAZY CAKE
INGREDIENTS
- 1 can sweetened condensed milk
- 2 tablespoon cocoa powder
- 1/4 cup milk
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/8 teaspoon cinnamon
- 4 ounces unsalted European butter
- 360 grams of cookies chopped into about 1 inch pieces (we used two different types of cookies)
DIRECTIONS
- Mix the cocoa powder and milk until there are no lumps. Then, stir in cinnamon and salt.
- In a saucepan, melt the butter with the sweetened condensed milk and add the cocoa mixture until combined. Cook over medium heat, until it starts to thicken for about 3 to 5 minutes.
- Put the cookies into a medium sized bowl and pour the chocolate mixture over the cookies. Stir to make sure everything is coated evenly.
- Then, pour the mixture into a 5”x9” loaf pan that is lined with plastic wrap.
- After pouring into the pan, remove from the cake and try to mold it into a cylinder.
- Put it in the fridge and cool for 3 to 4 hours
Slice into thin pieces and enjoy!
