GRANDMA BARBARA'S CARAMEL CORN

INGREDIENTS

  • ½ cup white Karo corn syrup
  • 6 quarts popped corn (24 c of popped corn) 
  • 2 sticks butter (salted)
  • 2 cup brown sugar 
  • ½ teaspoon salt 
  • ½ teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

DIRECTIONS

  1. Boil corn syrup, butter, brown sugar and salt for 5 min
  2. Put the popcorn in a large bowl
  3. After 5 minutes, stir in the baking soda and vanilla extract
  4. Once everything is combined, pour the mixture over the popcorn and put in the oven that is preheated to 250 degrees Fahrenheit 
  5. Bake for an hour while tossing the popcorn around every 15 min.
  6. Let cool and enjoy, for storage you can put in Tupperware or plastic bag. 
  7. Stay good for about a week, if it isn’t already gone by then.
