Grandma Barbara’s Dutch Almond Bars
INGREDIENTS
- 1 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup butter
- 1 egg
- 1 1/2 teaspoon almond extract
- 1 1/2 cup flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/3 cup raspberry jam (or blackberry)
- 1/2 cup nuts
DIRECTIONS
- Cream together sugar and butter in a medium sized bowl.
- Add the egg, almond extract, flour, and baking powder.
- Pour mixture into a 9x9 greased pan.
- Top with jam and nuts.
- Bake at 350 degrees Fahrenheit for 25 to 30 minutes.
