- 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 1 ⅛ teaspoon instant yeast (half of a packet)
- 1 cup 2 tablespoons AP flour
- ¾ teaspoon salt
Filling
- 2 tablespoons butter (melted)
- ¼ cup brown sugar
- ¾ teaspoon cinnamon
Frosting
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 2 ounces cream cheese
- ¾ cup powdered sugar
- ½ teaspoons vanilla
- ¼ cup milk
- 1 tablespoon butter (put on hot rolls before frosting)
DIRECTIONS
- Grease the dish with about 2 tablespoons butter
- Add milk, vegetable oil and sugar to a microwave safe liquid measuring cup mixing in the sugar til dissolved
- Let that cool down and add flour, yeast and salt to a stand mixer
- Add the wet ingredients to the dry and mix til combined
- Knead the dough by hand ( the dough will be sticky, it is smart to oil hands so the dough doesn’t stick to them)
- Add back into bowl and cover with a damp towel, keep in a warm place
- Let the dough rise for about an hour or until doubled in size
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit and grease baking dish by sticking the dish in with the butter (don’t put it in the oven for too long or butter will burn)
- Make the filling by melting the butter and mix the cinnamon and brown sugar in a separate bowl
- Roll the dough out onto a floured surface into a square shape
- Spread the melted butter onto the dough and sprinkle with the brown sugar and cinnamon mixture
- Roll the dough towards yourself and roll til desired length
- With a sharp knife cut the log into 6 evenly sized rolls
- The baking dish should have melted butter all over and place the rolls in it
- Cover the baking dish with a kitchen towel and let rise for another half hour
- Bake at 375 degrees Fahrenheit for 10-15 minutes (until lightly golden)
- For the icing add all ingredients into a bowl and mix til combined
- Once the rolls are done brush some butter on top
- Then add a nice layer of frosting on top of the cinnamon rolls
- Enjoy.
